Official institutional policy
01
Registration changes
Course additions and drops require an approved request within the dates published for the term. A change is effective when recorded by the Registrar, not when first discussed with an instructor. A student cannot add a course after the point at which the missed work prevents achievement of its learning outcomes.
02
Withdrawal and leave
A student may request withdrawal from a course or program, or a temporary leave, through Student Services. The academic record reflects the effective date and notation required by the published calendar. Work completed after the effective date is not accepted unless the decision expressly provides otherwise.
03
Return and time limits
Approval of leave states its duration and any condition for return. On return, the University determines whether the original curriculum remains available or a reasonable transition is required. Program time limits continue unless the leave decision expressly suspends them. Financial consequences, when applicable, are governed by the separately published refund terms.
