Accessibility and Academic Accommodations

Accessible digital learning, requests for accommodation and protection of essential outcomes.

Official institutional policy

01

Institutional commitment

PCU-USA seeks to make its website, learning environment, course materials and services usable by people with disabilities. The University uses WCAG 2.1 Level AA as its working digital-accessibility benchmark and considers accessibility when selecting formats and third-party tools.

02

Requesting an accommodation

A student may request an accommodation through Student Services, describing the access barrier and requested adjustment. The University may seek documentation reasonably related to functional need and will keep disability information limited to staff who need it. Requests should be made as early as practical, but a late request is still considered for prospective implementation.

03

Individualized decision and concerns

Adjustments are determined through an individualized, interactive process. An accommodation cannot eliminate an essential learning outcome, fundamentally alter the program or create an undue burden, but the University will consider effective alternatives. A student may report a barrier or appeal an accommodation decision without retaliation.
