Official institutional policy
01
Good standing
A student is in good academic standing while making satisfactory progress toward the published program requirements, meeting the applicable minimum passing standard and complying with academic obligations. Program-specific progression rules control when they are more demanding and were disclosed before enrollment.
02
Intervention and probation
When progress is at risk, the University may issue an academic warning and require an improvement plan, advising, reduced course load or completion of specified work. Probation states the conditions, measurement period and consequence of noncompliance in writing. It is intended to create a realistic route back to good standing.
03
Dismissal and appeal
Academic dismissal may follow failure to satisfy probation, inability to complete essential requirements or a pattern showing that timely completion is no longer reasonably possible. The written decision identifies its basis and the route and deadline for appeal. A successful appeal may impose conditions for continued study.
